As part of the daily programme many different learning areas are incorporated to develop the whole child and to ensure that each child has the opportunity to reach his or her full potential.
Curriculum – We are recognized by the education department and therefore we follow the CAPS curriculum, this is taught from the 4-5year old age group.
We follow CAPS – the children learn through doing activities which are structured around Home Language, Maths and Life Skills. The children learn through play and hands on activities. Our older classes also follow the Letterland programme as a fun way to learn the letter sounds and formations.
Art time – Art plays an important part of our programme as it gives children the opportunity to be creative and to express themselves in a different form. The children are encouraged to experiment with a variety of different art media in a fun and educational way.
Story Time – The school is very keen in developing the children’s imaginations by using story in many different ways.
Specialist lessons – We are fortunate to have specialist teachers who come to the school on a weekly basis to conduct lessons with the children:
- Creative Movement classes – the children learn to control their bodies as they move to music.
- Curious Cubs classes – the children are introduced to a number of fascinating science concepts and are able to perform science experiments in a safe and educational manner.
- Music classes – the children have fun singing, dancing and learning about the theories of music.
Outdoor Play –the outdoor area is an exciting place for the children. Here they are given the opportunity to play, climb and balance in our well-equipped playground. Our equipment is geared towards stimulating the children as they play as well as helping to develop their muscles.
We also have a qualified Occupational Therapist together with a Speech Therapist and Physiotherapist who work at the school.

This programme allows a child time away from their parents to build trusting relationships with adults outside the family. High-quality preschool programmes like our own, nurture warm relationships among children, teachers and parents. Teachers build a close personal connection with each child in their care.
This programme offers what the morning plan does, however many parents let their children stay for afternoons to allow them the chance to eat a hot meal at school. Eating a healthy diet helps children stay alert during class, fight off illnesses, and grow into strong, healthy adults. School children get up to half the food they need each day at school, which makes schools an important place for learning healthy eating habits. We find our children, even the fussiest of eaters copy their peers and end up eating a good healthy meal each day with little coaxing, much to their parents delight. They are also allowed an hours nap or rest-time after lunch.
We understand many parents work long hours, so what better place to leave your children with peace of mind that they are being stimulated, taking part in fun activities, getting a hot meal cooked at lunch-time, as well as taking part in fun afternoon activities.
Aside from our qualified teachers and after school activity specialists, we also have Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech Therapists on our premises. These highly trained individuals work with everyday developmental issues during school hours, where they observe the children in their classroom environment and identify any issues before they start Primary School.
Added to this we have speech, hearing and eye tests done once a year for age 4-5 children in the school to be sure no problems arise.
